The World Of Marshy

The fluffy pinkness never ends

Driving round to Wallmart on a friday night…

So whats new in the world of marshy?

Well I’ve officially finished my second year at uni. All my exams are done (none went badly so that’s the a big plus), and I start my third year on Monday. (Yes I know its a bank holiday but Lancaster Uni doesn’t believe in bank holidays. And yes I I know starting third year in my second year is also weird but never mind 🙂 .)

I’ve had a fab shopping trip to Preston with my friends Hannah and Sam. It was soooo much fun, and I got lots of complements from random people about what I was wearing. Apparently I’ve got really good dress sense 🙂 Moi? *blushes.

Biggest news is that today I achieved a New Years Resolution and something I’ve been chasing for a long time. I took my driving test this morning and PASSED!!!

Not a perfect round, I got several minors and made a couple of poorly  jugded decisions, which is mostly due to being under pressure at the time but I can LEGALLY DRIVE!! Next mission: get a Claire-Mobile 🙂

Now what should I spend that £30 a week on now I don’t have to pay for lessons?

Today has been a day for sorting things out. My travel insurance for Australia is booked, and despite some confusion I’ve also got my visa. ISV have confirmed its the correct one so if theres a cock-up later I will NOT be happy. But all should be ok. I’ve also booked my driving test but I’m not telling when it is, just in case.

Other than that my days are consisted with trying to revise and retain something. I’ll be very glad when my exams are done.

Now I’m off to watch Curse of the Wererabbit , which was a mega bargin at £3.99 in Sainsbos. For once they were nice and cheap! BUNNIES!!!

Like windows on a train

It seems I have gone along time without blogging, which isn’t rare for me, but what is rare is that lots has happened!

I have been on an adventure to Birmingham to see some of the lovely people from the chatroom. It was a brilliant day in which Richard and I got lost trying to find the pub, Hutters got cadded by the Spanish waiter, Richard lost his geocaching virginity then got lost trying to find me when we went shopping, and my breasts managed to ensure we skipped the hour wait for food 🙂

I have also seen my long lost friend Loren from America. She hasn’t so much been lost just hasn’t been back over since we  were about 4. It was so great seeing her and her mum (a long lost friend of my mum) again, and by spooky coincidence it turns out we are doing the SAME degree and will graduate next year. FREAKY of what?

Possibly THE most exciting thing though is my successful application to do some conservation work in Australia. I’m going for 2 weeks in August to do as yet unselected conservation work. The plan is to try and pick something research based which is really relevant to my degree. It’s costing me an arm *but it’ll be worth it. Still don’t think it’s sunk in yet 🙂

Second year is turning out to be exhausting. Too much effing further reading. I’m not on top of it but at least by living in the libary I’m getting a good chunk of it done. Role on easter holidays…

Oh wait, I have to spend it revising……*plays with 48 ballooons instead 🙂

xoxo

*as apposed to the arm and a leg the 2 weeks conservation plus 2 weeks “adventure tour” would cost me. I’m only doing the conservation work so I cana ctually afford to eat! And maybe go see my friend Sam in France….

Could be an adventure, but it might not be

with 2 comments

Well seen as I was on here anyway I figured I should blogg. My life is mostly consisting of uni work, ASDA work and being a general student. I’m managing to be a Proper Student this term, with more socialising and whatnots happening. It does help Richards changed all is shifts so is home by 5 most nights. We get to do fun things like Orange Wednesdays together, it’s brill 🙂

So far using our free tickets we’ve been to see Slumdog Millionaire, Twilight, Nick and Norahs Infinite Playlist and Frost/Nixon. The latter 2 being my favourites, F/N was simply amazing.

Tomorrow I’m tootling up to the uni with Richard to go to a talk about a chance to spend a month in Australia/New Zealand. 2 weeks conservation work followed by 2 weeks “adventure tour”. It’s not cheap but I’d love to do it. Being away from Richard for a whole month would be horrid but the trade-off we’ve agreed is worth it.  We’d love to move there so it would help with a visa application, plus if I can get onto one of the scientific research programs it would count as work experience. I’m not getting too excited just yet but tomorrow will hopefully make things a little bit clearer.

love you all xoxo

Ask not what America can do for you, but what you can do for America

We officially have a new president. Congrats America. I hope he brings you the change you so dearly need.

He was nervous and excited, but cool and calm. He has great promise.  And most importantly, he brings great hope.

Welcome Obama and welcome the hope and change you bring.

Happy New Year

with one comment

Well Happy New Year to everyone who reads this.

For me it’s a new year in a new blogging site with a new blogg. Bet I won’t blogg more often though 🙂 Everyone seems to be writing about their new years resolutions but I don’t think I’ve really got around to writing mine. Theres deffinatly a couple I need.  But we shall work on that soon enough 🙂

My new year has already been extreamly productive. I’ve tided my desk, (which was covered in a bucket of rubbish) and unpacked most of the Christmas presents I hadn’t sorted out.  A grand sort out is being, (although I don’t think I’m ever NOT having one of those), so ebay here I come!

Tomorrow I’m going home for a few days, to see various friends and family members. It’ll be the longest Richard and I have been apart BUT we all know absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Tomorrow is also my last shift at River Island. Afterwards I have £100 of staff discount to spend….My poor bank balance 🙂

Hope you all have a lovely day

xoxo

A Change, A Change, Would Do You Good

leave a comment »

I finally opened the perfume Richard bought me for Christmas and realised just how nice it is to change scents once in a while. I usually wear Angel, which is very sweet and chocolaty. Richard bought me Promesse, which is all blackcurranty.
Suffice to say I love the smell and because I’m not used to it I can smell it more often. Remind me to rotate my scents more often!

Right, now I’m off to look after a rather sick Richard and watch some of Star Trek Nemesis. I forgot what a good team the Next Gen crew make!

Well well well, did we all have nice Christmases? Ours was looking a little shaky but once mum had bullied dad into letting Richard sleep on the living room floor all was well. It was a perfect family Christmas, made even better by Richards presence.
I was very lucky in terms of gifts, some very perfect and well chosen ones were given to me. Richard bought me the most elegant necklace ever, and my nanna a dressing gown that is so very warm, (essential for this freezing cold house!!!). Pride of place on my book shelf is iGentics 2nd edition, one of m course texts next term. Mum and Dad got it me, which means I can buy a course text for the other module AND a subscription to Nature* when my next loan installment comes in.
All in all a very lovely Christmas. My sister didn’t moan because I was around and my dad didn’t sulk because we had a Richard staying with us 🙂 I hope yours were all as nice.

Thanks to National rail not runnng Boxing Day trains (desipte route planner saying there WERE trains last week), my parents gave us a lift home, which helped somewhat with the fact I’m was working at 1pm at River Island. Which had a MASSIVE sale on. It was so unbelievably busy.
And a little worrying given the current climate. Either way 4 hours insane work earned me £60ish. Give or take the tax mans cut. (I WILL get that back you B*******).

Right well I shall be off now to see where my brew has got to.
Hope everyone is well and happy

As always it’s been too long. But I have, as always been busy. Lectures, coursework, that damned further reading, and 2 jobs.

I’ve made it through the first part of my second year, although I still have a fair bit of work I still haven’t done. Going to work throug it this holidays in a slow steady manner. There’s no pressure so it’s easier to do.

Richard and I are still happily little loved up bunnies 🙂 The girls have gone home for Christmas
so we’ve got the house to ourselves. AND we’re happily planning our second christmas together 🙂

We’ve found a lovely house for next year, which is much nicer than this one we’re in. I’ve still to sort out when we move in, but they said come back in the summerso I shall trot back then.

Now I shall go and find out if they have snow at home and if I can pop home for a couple of days….
